About
About Taperlark
Taperlark builds small macOS apps and stands behind every one of them.
Who builds this
Taperlark is not a company with a support queue and a roadmap committee. I write the Swift, answer the license emails, and decide what a feature is worth shipping. If something in an app is wrong, it is my mistake to fix, and I read every message that comes through the support page.
How the apps are built
Every app is a native macOS build, signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple, distributed as a direct DMG download rather than gated behind an installer or an account. There is no telemetry SDK bundled in to justify a growth chart. Each app does one job, and the feature list stays short on purpose: a tool that tries to do everything ends up doing nothing well.
Why one time purchases
A subscription optimizes for recurring revenue, not for the app staying good. A one time purchase means the price is the price, the app keeps working after you pay it, and I only get paid again if I ship something worth buying. Free and safety features stay available after a trial ends; the paid features are what a license unlocks.
